Washing and packing sozni shawls

Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• practice washing of shawl after embroidery
• pack the shawl after washing.

Requirements
Materials

• Shawls completed with embroidery
• Neutral detergent or baby shampoo

PROCEDURE

TASK 1: Practicing washing of a shawl after embroidery

1 Shawl are given to washman (local language dhobi).
Washing is done by the neutral detergent near the
river. (Fig 1)

2 The shawl is beaten on the smooth stone when
washed. (Fig 2a,b)
